New Russell Hoban website launched
A comprehensive new Russell Hoban website launches today, offering a wide range of information and resources about the late author and his work.
russellhoban.org was created by a group of volunteers from the Russell Hoban community, with approval from Russell Hoban's family.
The site includes a biography, summaries of Hoban's novels and children's books, and a full bibliography.
A resources section contains scores of links to external web pages as well as a list of publications available only in print.
Original essays discussing themes in Hoban's novels including Riddley Walker and Turtle Diary can also be found in that section, and the site is inviting submissions of further essays.
Users are able to help make the site even more comprehensive by adding "edition pages" of Hoban's novels, as well as summaries of his many books. All such contributions are moderated by a team of knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteer editors who have been active in the Hoban world for many years.
Visitors to the site can vote on polls, chat on forums and give star ratings to Hoban's books.
Russell Hoban died in December 2011 aged 86. Apart from the classic Riddley Walker, he was also the author of The Mouse and His Child and the Frances books. His young-adult novel Soonchild was published posthumously to critical acclaim in March 2012.
