Hello---
Ever since reading Riddley Walker for the first time I've wondered what the "sarvering" in "sarvering gallack seas" means. Sovereign? Several? I don't get it. Does anybody know?

Hi there,
The Riddley Walker Annotations site, which is the most comprehensive guide to the book on the web that I know of, says it means "sovereign": http://www.errorbar.net/rw/chapter/4
